Ned part 2

I was walking down a lane in town, and suddenly heard a frightful sound
with a tremble and trip i turned and looked-
but found there to be no one round

dark and dreary with whispering winds and shadows at every corner

then i called into the night and met my near friend ned.
a taunting, tenacious, tickling fiend
we see him one or twice
now the dark is not so dreary, but cold from his bitter bite

i say to you, "go away"
but how persistent he is in play.
you attempt to parry, but end up nearly worse than you were before!

How monstrously big! No languid and lithe-
he pours across the lane... a pinnacle of power
a midnight fright
"every travelers delight" he croones into my ear

"BUT NO" I say, for i am clear of fear and exasperated in my expression, and continue down the lane.
"ned, you took your wander far too late!" "my mind no longer carotid and at your disposal"
then slowly he smiled
"my dear, dear girl" he says "i must impose on you a little longer, for all pretenses past tense, and please take no offense, but you have always been mine."

then stirred in my stride, i found him by my side.
taken under his sweet arm i cried... for Ned never lies

Northern Nice

the white washed roads and white washed faces
blanket here and nearby landscapes
with friendly "hellos" and "hi's" as common as goodbyes

simple times watch the sun go by
at a monotonous pace i watch the days
as common as passerby

the stretched out spaces of the northern state leave me room to breathe
the starry sky brush against untouched lands...
a dichotomy worthy of pride
